Designing Your Sticker

The sticker designer lets you turn any picture into a real, printed sticker. You upload an image, choose the shape and size, see exactly what your sticker will look like, and add it to your cart — all on one page.

This guide walks you through the whole thing, start to finish. It's written for customers, so store owners are welcome to share it or copy from it.

1. Open the store's sticker page. (Some stores also have a quick-start box on their home page — see "Starting from the quick-start box" below.)
2. Add your picture. On a computer, drag your image onto the box that says Drop your image here, or click it to browse. On a phone, tap Tap to add your image. You can use a PNG, JPG, SVG, GIF, BMP, or TIFF file, up to 20 MB.
3. If your picture has a background, the designer may ask Remove the background? Choosing Remove background erases everything around the main subject of your picture, so the sticker can be cut right along its outline. You'll see Removing background… for a moment while it works. Don't worry — you can undo this at any time.
4. Pick a Cut Shape — the shape the sticker is cut into:
   • Contour — the cut follows the outline of your image. This is the classic die-cut sticker look. With the Contour shape you also get Smoothness and Tighten border sliders to fine-tune how closely the cut hugs your image.
   • Box — a rectangle.
   • Rounded — a rectangle with rounded corners. A Corner radius slider controls how round.
   • Circle — a circle or oval. Every shape has a Border size slider that adds a colored edge around your image.
5. If the store offers it, pick a Cut Style:
   • Die Cut — the sticker is cut all the way through, so what you peel is exactly the shape of your design.
   • Kiss Cut — your sticker sits on a slightly larger backing that peels away. The Backing slider sets how much backing shows around it.
6. Choose your Size. Pick one of the preset sizes from the list, or choose Custom Size and type your own Width and Height. If you're ordering a sticker sheet instead of single stickers, you'll pick a Sheet Size and a Sticker Size, and the designer tells you how many stickers fit — for example, "Up to 12 stickers per sheet."
7. Choose a Material if the store offers more than one (for example, glossy or matte vinyl).
8. Set your Quantity with the − and + buttons, or type a number. Many stores give volume discounts — if so, you'll see the price per sticker drop at certain quantities, with your current price highlighted.
9. Check the price. The order summary shows your quantity, the price each, and the total. It updates instantly as you change options.
10. Click Preview (next to Edit, above your design) to see a realistic picture of the finished sticker. You can tilt it around with your mouse or finger to see how it catches the light. Click Edit to go back to designing.
11. When you're happy, click Add to Cart. Your sticker is added to the store's cart just like any other product, and you check out normally.

Above your design (or under Tools on a phone) you'll find a small toolbar:

• Remove — removes the background from your picture, same as the prompt in step 3.
• Rotate — opens Rotate & Flip, with buttons to Rotate left, Rotate right, Flip horizontal, and Flip vertical.
• Text — adds words to your sticker. Click Add text, then type your words and choose the alignment, line spacing, font, color, and outline. Drag the text on your design to place it, and drag its handle to resize it. Double-click any text on the design to jump straight to editing it.
• Touch up — cleans up your picture after background removal: an Eraser rubs away stray marks along the edge, and Trim cuts off whole pieces you don't want. Available with the Contour shape once the background is gone. The full guide is in Cleaning Up Your Sticker's Edges.
• Undo and Redo — step backward or forward through your changes.
• Reset — puts your picture back the way it was when you uploaded it. The designer asks you to confirm first, because this can't be undone.

You can also drag your cut shape around inside the image, and drag the corners to resize it. Hold Shift while resizing to keep the proportions.

Some stores have a smaller box on their home page or a landing page where you pick your shape, size, material, and quantity first, and see the price as you go. When you're ready, click Upload image (the store may have renamed this button) and choose your picture. You'll be taken straight to the full designer with everything you picked already filled in — just fine-tune and add to cart.

On a phone, the designer fills your screen with your sticker, and your options live in a bar along the top: Shape, Cut, Tools, and Size. Tap one to open its options, and tap the back arrow to close it. The top row has Reset on the left, the Edit / Preview switch in the middle, and Add to cart on the right. Everything works the same as on a computer — it's just arranged for a smaller screen.

You don't need to save anything while you design. The designer quietly saves your progress as you go. If you close the tab, your phone reloads the page, or you come back later in the same browser, your picture and all your choices will still be there.

If you'd rather wipe the slate clean and begin again, click Start over. The designer asks you to confirm, because this clears your saved design for good.

Made a typo, or want a different size? If the store has this set up, you can reopen a sticker from your cart in the designer. Your design loads exactly as you left it. Make your changes, then click Save Changes — the sticker in your cart is updated in place, so you won't end up with two.

Q: Will the checkered pattern behind my picture be printed on the sticker? A: No. The checkered pattern just means that part of your picture is transparent — nothing prints there. Your sticker is cut along the shape you chose.

Q: What's the difference between Die Cut and Kiss Cut? A: A die-cut sticker is cut all the way through, so the whole thing is the shape of your design. A kiss-cut sticker is the same shape, but it sits on a slightly bigger backing that you peel it off of — which makes it easier to peel and protects the edges.

Q: I got a "Low print resolution" warning. What does it mean? A: Your picture doesn't have enough detail to print sharply at the size you picked. It will still print, but it may look soft or pixelated. Either pick a smaller size or upload a higher-quality version of the picture (more pixels, not just a bigger file).

Q: I closed the page by accident. Is my design gone? A: No — the designer saves as you go. Reopen the sticker page in the same browser on the same device and your design will be right where you left it.

Q: Does the preview show exactly what I'll receive? A: The preview shows your design at your chosen shape and material finish, so it's a very close picture of the real thing. Small details like exact color can vary slightly between screens and print.

Q: Why can't I save or copy the image on the design page? A: The design page protects your artwork from being copied. Your clean, high-quality file is created when you place your order — you don't need to save anything yourself.

Q: Can I order the same design in two sizes? A: Yes. Add the first one to your cart, then design the sticker again at the other size and add it too. Each one appears as its own item in your cart.

• Nothing happens when you pick a file — The file is probably a type the designer doesn't accept. Save or export your picture as a PNG or JPG and try again.
• You see "Image is too large" — Your file is over the size limit. Export a smaller version of the picture and upload that instead.
• You see "You're uploading a little too quickly" — You've swapped images several times in a row. Wait the number of seconds shown, then try again.
• The Add to Cart button says "Upload an image to continue," "Enter a custom size to continue," or "Select a material to continue" — Something is still missing from your order. The button tells you exactly what: add your picture, finish typing your custom size, or pick a material, and the button will change to Add to Cart.
• You see "Max size is…" or "Min size is…" under your custom size — The store limits how big or small stickers can be. Adjust your width and height to fit within the sizes shown.
• You see "Sticker size exceeds sheet dimensions" — On a sticker sheet order, your sticker size is bigger than the sheet you picked. Choose a smaller sticker size or a larger sheet.
• You see "The store is busy right now" or "We couldn't add this sticker to your cart" — This is temporary. Wait a moment and click Add to Cart again — your design is not lost.
• The preview says "Rendering preview…" for a long time or shows an error — Switch back to Edit and click Preview again. If it keeps failing, your design is still safe — you can add it to your cart without previewing.
• Your design didn't come back after closing the page — Automatic saving doesn't work in private/incognito browsing, or if you switched to a different browser or device. Rebuild your design in a normal browser window and it will be saved from then on.
