How to make a gift tag sticker sheet with AI

Use the AI you already have to design a whole sheet of custom gift tags. We print it and kiss-cut every tag, so they peel and stick: no string, no tape, no hole punch.

Start with this prompt

Edit the words in brackets, then open it in ChatGPT or copy it into Gemini or Ideogram. The steps below explain each part.

Open in ChatGPT

Using an AI assistant that can read web pages, such as ChatGPT, Gemini or Claude? Ask it: "Read stickersheets.com/agents.md, then help me design a gift tag sheet." That file has our sheet rules and this prompt, written for AI tools.

What you're making

One letter-size sheet (8.5 x 11 in), portrait or landscape, holding your gift tags and anything else you want on it, such as a banner with your logo or a message. We print the sheet and kiss-cut around each tag, so every tag peels off as a sticker. An order is at least 10 sheets, all printed with the same design.

Step 1: Plan your sheet

Decide how many tags you want and how big. The smallest tag is 1 x 2 in; at that size, 28 fit on a sheet. Bigger tags leave more room to write To and From with a fine-tip permanent marker.

A sheet holds up to 10 different designs, and repeating a design is free: repeats don't count toward the 10. A matching set for the whole family, a tag for every student, or client gifts with your logo along the top or bottom of the sheet all work.

Step 2: Fill in the prompt

Use the prompt above. Change the words in brackets: how many tags, your style, and your logo or message. Leave the rest as it is, because each line keeps the design printable:

  • Portrait, 3:4. Close to the shape of a letter page, so the design fills the sheet.
  • A plain white background and an empty border. Keeps your tags clear of the sheet edge.
  • Separate shapes with white space between them. Each tag is cut on its own, so tags can't touch or overlap.
  • "TO:" and "FROM:" with blank space. Room to write by hand.
  • No holes, strings, titles, shadows, fake sticker outlines or mockups. The tags peel and stick, and we cut the outline for you, so anything drawn to look like a hole or an outline prints as part of the picture.

Step 3: Generate and refine

Generate the sheet, then ask for changes until you like it: other colors, fewer tags, a bigger banner. Check every name and message letter by letter.

Using ChatGPT? It makes images taller than a letter page. The prompt asks it to keep everything in the middle, so the extra height is trimmed and your tags stay intact.

Ideogram is reliable at spelling names and short messages correctly, which helps on a sheet full of names.

Step 4: Download the largest size

Download the largest size the tool offers. Small downloads print blurry. A PNG or JPG is right, and a transparent PNG is best. Upload the largest size you have, and we'll flag anything that won't print sharp in your proof.

Step 5: Check the size on paper

Print it on plain paper at Actual size (100%), not Fit to page. Hold a tag in your hand: is there room to write, and can you read every word?

Step 6: Order and approve your proof

Order your sheets and upload your design. We send a free proof within 24 hours on weekdays, and nothing prints until you approve it. If your design doesn't fit, we'll tell you before we print and help adjust the layout, at no extra charge.

Sheet rules

  • Sheet: 8.5 x 11 in, portrait or landscape
  • Keep everything 0.2 in from every edge
  • Leave 0.15 in between designs
  • Up to 10 different designs; repeat any of them as often as you like
  • Smallest design: 1 x 2 in
  • Background: plain white or transparent

The edge space keeps anything from running off when the sheet is trimmed. The space between designs matters because each tag is cut on its own and cutting has a small tolerance.

Common problems

  • Tags touching or overlapping. Ask for more white space between the tags.
  • A misspelled name. Ask the tool to fix that one word, or try Ideogram.
  • Fake holes, strings or sticker borders. Ask it to remove them; they would print as part of the picture.
  • A colored background. Ask for a plain white background.
  • A blurry download. Download it again at the largest size offered.
