Frequently asked questions

Everything we get asked about sheets, artwork, proofs and shipping. If your question isn't here, ask us.

Ordering

How do I order a custom sticker sheet?

Pick a sheet size, finish and quantity on the product page; the price updates as you choose. Press Continue, upload your artwork on the next page, and add the sheet to your cart. Payment is taken at checkout, and we email a free proof within 24 hours on weekdays before anything prints.

Do I need to upload artwork before I can add a sheet to my cart?

Yes. After you choose a size, finish and quantity, the next page asks for your artwork, and the sheet goes into your cart with the file attached. That way we have everything we need to make your proof as soon as you order.

What is the minimum order?

10 sheets of the same layout. You can order any quantity from 10 up to 5,000, and the price per sheet drops as the quantity goes up. Each different layout is its own item, with its own 10-sheet minimum.

Why does the per-sheet price drop at higher quantities?

Most of the cost of a run is in setting it up, so each extra sheet costs less to print than the first. The quantity buttons on the product page show the per-sheet price at every tier, so you can compare before you choose.

Can I put more than one design on a sheet, or order several designs at once?

Yes, up to 10 designs on one sheet. Several designs on one sheet is the usual choice for swag and package inserts, and repeating one design across the sheet is the usual choice for labels.

Every sheet in an item is identical. If you want a different layout too, add it to your cart as a separate item, with its own 10-sheet minimum. A multi-page PDF counts as a separate layout for each page, so each page needs its own item.

Can I get samples with my own artwork?

Not in the sample pack. For your artwork, place an order: the proof shows the layout and every cut line before anything prints.

How fast do samples ship?

Sample packs are ready-made, so there is no proof step. Yours usually ships within 2-3 business days, and you get a tracking email when it does.

Do I get the sample pack cost back on an order?

Yes. Every pack comes with a $5 coupon code toward your first order of $25 or more, so the pack pays for itself when you order sheets.

When am I charged?

At checkout, like any online order. Your proof is free and comes after checkout, and nothing prints until you approve it.

Artwork & Proofs

What file formats do you accept?

PDF, AI, PSD, EPS, SVG, TIFF, JPG, PNG or HEIC. Vector files (PDF, AI, EPS, SVG) print sharpest. If your sheet uses several images, zip them together and upload the zip.

What resolution does my artwork need to be?

Vector artwork (PDF, AI, EPS, SVG) prints sharp at any size. For photos and other raster files, aim for 300 dpi at the size it will print. If a file is too low in resolution to print well, we tell you at the proof stage, before anything is printed.

How soon will I see a proof?

After you order, we check your artwork over and send you a free proof within 24 hours on weekdays. Nothing goes to press until you have approved it.

Do I have to lay out the sheet myself?

No. Send up to 10 images and we arrange them on the sheet; the proof shows the arrangement and every cut line. If you have already laid out the sheet at the ordered size, we print it as sent and add the kiss-cut lines.

What if something's wrong with my proof?

Reply to the proof email and tell us what's wrong. If the fix is on our side, such as the layout or a cut line, we send an updated proof. If the artwork itself needs to change, send a corrected file and we proof that instead. Nothing prints until you approve a proof.

Will you fix or touch up my artwork?

We print what you supply. We check every file and lay out the sheet, and the proof shows exactly what will print, but we don't redraw or edit artwork. If the proof isn't right, send a corrected file and we make a new proof.

Send each image exactly as it should print, with no sizes, notes or instructions inside the artwork. Put those in the order notes. PNGs should have a transparent background.

Will the printed colors match my screen?

Close, but not exactly, and we don't color match. A screen shows color with light and print shows it with ink, so bright, saturated colors, especially neon blues, greens and pinks, come out a little softer on the sheet. Matte reads slightly flatter than gloss.

Can you cut right on the edge of my design, including letter centers?

Yes. Every sticker is kiss-cut along its outline, and inside cuts like the centers of O, R and D are available if you ask in your order notes. Because the cut follows the edge exactly, a hairline of white or a cut just inside the color can occasionally show, especially on small shapes. We don't add bleed to sheet artwork. For color right to the edge, build bleed into your file, or ask for a small white border, which needs no bleed. See the artwork guide.

Materials & Finishes

What sheet sizes can I order?

Five ready-made sizes: 4" x 5", 4" x 6", 5" x 7", 6" x 10", and 8.5" x 11".

You can also enter your own size, from 2" x 3" up to 12" x 18", in half-inch steps.

Every size is available in all four finishes.

What finishes do high-tack sheets come in?

On high-tack sheets: matte, gloss and holographic.

Matte is a flat, low-glare surface. Gloss is shiny and makes colors read brighter. Holographic has a rainbow shift that catches the light. All three carry a laminate over the print, which is what protects printed color outdoors.

We always laminate high-tack. You reach for this adhesive because something has to hold on a rough or demanding surface, and that is exactly where an unprotected print would not last. If you want the unlaminated option, it is Economical on our standard sheets.

What finishes do you offer?

Four: matte, gloss, holographic and economical.

Matte is a flat, low-glare surface. Gloss is shiny and makes colors read brighter. Holographic has a rainbow shift that catches the light. Those three carry a laminate over the print, which is what protects printed color outdoors.

Economical leaves that layer off: the same printed vinyl at our lowest price, with a natural gloss from the media itself. It is the choice for indoor use.

Do I need the laminate?

If the sticker is going outside, or onto something that gets handled hard (a water bottle, a laptop lid, a cooler, a car window), yes. The laminate is a clear 2.75 mil film over the print, taking the sheet to about twice its thickness. It carries UV absorbers, and that is the part that matters: it keeps printed color from fading in sunlight and takes the scuffs before your ink does. Matte and gloss are rated for up to six years outside.

Holographic is laminated too, on the same film with a prismatic effect in it. It is rated up to three years outside rather than six, so for something that has to last outdoors, matte or gloss will go the distance better.

If it is staying indoors (packaging inserts, product labels on boxes, planner and journal stickers, envelope seals, event swag), Economical is the pick. Same printed vinyl underneath, just without the protective layer, and indoors there is not much for it to protect against.

Which finish should I pick?

Matte if the stickers carry text or will be read up close: it is glare-free. Gloss if you want colors to look brighter and deeper. Holographic for bold, simple artwork that suits a rainbow shimmer; fine detail can get lost in it. The sample pack has one sheet of each so you can compare them in your hands.

Do you remove the excess vinyl around the stickers?

No. Sheets arrive with the excess vinyl in place. To take it off yourself, lift a corner and peel it back in one piece, then use tweezers for small inside pieces like the centers of letters.

Can I put these on walls?

Our standard adhesive is made to stay put, and on painted walls it can pull paint when removed. For walls, classrooms or anything temporary, contact us about removable vinyl.

Production & Shipping

How long does production and shipping take?

Production is 3-6 business days after you approve your proof, then transit time. The clock starts at approval, not at checkout, because nothing can be printed until the artwork is approved.

Does the turnaround start at checkout or at proof approval?

At proof approval. Production cannot begin before the artwork is approved, so the 3-6 business days count from the moment you approve, after any rounds of changes.

What does shipping cost?

Shipping is a flat $10, and it is free on orders $150+.

Do you ship outside the United States?

Not at the moment. We print and ship within the United States only.

Problems With an Order

How do I report a problem with my order?

Use the order problem form with your order number, a short description of what's wrong, and photos of what arrived. We look at every report and reply with what happens next.

What isn't considered a defect?

Kiss-cutting has a small tolerance. A hairline of white at the edge of a sticker, or a cut landing slightly inside the color, is normal, especially on small shapes and inside cuts. So are small color differences from your screen. Artwork supplied without bleed is more likely to show a white edge. Excess vinyl left around your stickers is expected, since we don't remove it.
