A clear matte laminate over the print. It scatters light instead of bouncing it straight back, so fine text and thin line work stay readable from any angle. Colors sit a little quieter than gloss: that flatness is the point, not a compromise.

Matte and gloss are the same 2.75 mil clear film and carry the same up-to-six-years outdoor rating. The only difference between them is how the surface handles light. If your sheet is mostly type, or it will be read close up under an office light, matte is the one.

A clear gloss laminate over the print. It deepens saturated color and gives photographic work its punch, which is why it is the default choice for anything image-led.

It is the same 2.75 mil film as matte, with the same up-to-six-years outdoor rating, so choosing between them is about how you want the surface to read. Solid colors, gradients and images gain the most from gloss; matte suits small type better.

Most sticker printers laminate everything and charge for it. That is the right call for a water bottle or a laptop lid. It is the wrong one for a box label that gets opened, read once and recycled.

The economical sheet is the same artwork, printed the same way, on the same 2.75 mil American-made vinyl as the other three. The only thing missing is the clear film on top. Indoors that film has very little to do: no sunlight to fade the ink, no rain, nothing scrubbing at it. You would be paying for protection the sticker will never need.

If your stickers live on packaging, product labels, planners, envelopes or an event table, that is a difference you will never notice, and a saving you will.

Most holographic stickers are printed straight onto holographic film, so the ink competes with the shimmer and colors come out muted. Ours goes the other way round. The artwork prints in full color on white media, and a holographic laminate goes over the top. The rainbow moves across the whole sticker, image included, while the colors underneath stay true.

Bold shapes and solid colors are what this finish is built for. It is the one people pick up first on a table.

One thing worth knowing when you choose: the holographic film is rated up to three years outdoors where the clear laminate is rated up to six. For long-term outdoor use, matte or gloss will go the distance better.
